This was Gene Simmons’ reply when asked why he and his bandmates who were all over six foot tall and really hairy chose to get glammed up in rhinestones, makeup and leather for their performances rather than just wear t-shirts and jeans like they did offstage.
I reckon Queen Lizz would have related to Gene's sentiment that the ritual of dressing up for the public stage is sacred, perhaps even spiritual, an act of respect and duty.
